Born in Maine, Brian was affectionately known as the "Night Wolf," his obituary says.
Having recently earned a degree in music arts, Taplin had been working as a support consultant with Labor Finders, LLC in Manassas, and had been considered for a higher position in Fredericksburg, according to his obituary.
Brian was passionate about fitness, playing disc golf, and travel.
More than $2,200 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Brian's family as of Tuesday, April 25.
Brian's death prompted a surge of condolences on Facebook.
